Airbox apart

Quick evening session. The airbox out of the frame and split into its pieces on the cutting mat.

Short one. The airbox comes out of the frame in one piece once the carbs and the battery are gone, then splits into the outer cover, the filter cage and the twin rubber boots that reach forward to the carburetors.

The boots are the critical part. They’re original and still soft, so they stay. The foam filter is beyond saving and the gasket around the filter frame has gone to crumbs. Both go on the list.

Airbox out and apart: outer cover (left), filter frame (center), and the twin boots that clamp onto the carburetors (top). Zep degreaser and a Milwaukee ratchet for scale.
Same parts, rearranged. The boots are still pliable, which was the thing I was worried about. The filter frame gasket is not.
